Trick Or Treat! Spooky 'N Witchy by Art Gallery Fabrics

Did you know Halloween is one of my favourite holidays? All the fun but none of the stress of Christmas! I just love the quilting cotton fabric collections the designers bring out for Halloween. Last year I stocked Sweet ‘N Spookier by Art Gallery Fabrics (there are a few fabrics left if you want to check it out) and it was super popular! Also, each year's collection coordinates with the last, so why not combine these together?

I even sponsored a spooky-themed make-a-long over on Instagram.

So, this year it was a no-brainer to order Art Gallery Fabric's 2023 Halloween collection, Spooky 'N Witchy.

As with all their collections, Art Gallery Fabrics have produced a truely haunting Look Book showcasing the range of prints and examples of projects that can be made with them. I especially love patchwork baskets featured.

Art Gallery Fabrics have designed this free Quilt pattern that is available over on their website. It uses several prints from Spooky 'N Witchy and uses traditional piecing & applique, finishing at 86 x 87".

This bundle is precut by Art Gallery Fabrics and contains 16 Fat Quarters, one of each print of The Spooky 'N Witchy collection. These bundles are a great timer saver - you can purchase the entire quilting fabric collection in one click! 

Fat Quarter? Charm Pack? Jelly Roll? What does it all mean?! Whether you’re a beginner Quilter or a seasoned pro, pre-cut names can be confusing. You might be asking what EVEN is a Pre-cut??

A pre-cut is the name given to a bundle of fabric that has been cut to a uniform size and sold together, simply put it is quilting fabric that has been cut for you. They come in a variety of sizes, including Fat Quarters, Fat Eighths, Jelly Roll/Design Rolls, Layer Cakes, Charm Packs & Mini Charm packs. They normally contain fabrics from one designer collection meaning the fabrics coordinate together. You also might be asking why you would want the fabric cut for you? Well, they can be a huge time saver! Say, a quilt is using lots of 5” square blocks. Instead of having to cut them all (and be accurate!), you could just use a Charm Pack! They’re also super beginner-friendly.

As usual, I have fabrics from Spooky 'N Witchy collection available to purchase by the quarter metre.

All fabrics, unless otherwise stated are 112cm wide approx. and 100% cotton. Fabrics are sold in quarter metre (25cm) increments and the first quarter being a fat quarter. Each quantity of “1” is a quarter metre and fabric is will be cut in one continuous piece.

I really like bats! I have a family of them roosting in the cavity walls of my house and in the early evenings I sit in the garden while they swoop over me. These fabric bats are just perfect for Spooky ‘N Witchy and the PDF pattern can be purchased from Blue Susan Make’s Shop.

Scrunchies are super easy to make and perfect accessories for those who want to show their Halloween appreciation but in a low-key way. Art Gallery Fabrics have a free video tutorial over on their Instagram.
